Physiotherapy Works' Story

Lynne founded Physiotherapy Works to combine her 25 years of experience of working with older adults with her passion for keeping them strong and active to retain their autonomy and independence.

Lynne has postgraduate qualifications in acupuncture and manipulative therapy and has a special interest in moving and handling in the aged-care industry (and is a member of Moving & Handling Association of Australia & NZ [MHANZ]).

Jill Depledge has a Master of Physiotherapy (Honours). She has 30 years of experience as a physiotherapist including 21 years specialising in male and female continence, and over the past ten years has worked increasingly with older adults.

Susan Kohut has a Master's of Physiotherapy (First Class Honours) in Acupuncture. Currently a senior lecturer at AUT, Susan works both in the community, and residential care facilities with an interest in musculoskeletal pain, neurological treatment

and balance/fall prevention. Susan is happy to see people on the shore, mainly East Coast Bays and Albany.

Mairead Woods (NZRP) has a Bachelor of Health Science from AUT. She changed careers to physiotherapy because of her long-standing interest in the use of exercise to treat and prevent health conditions, and improve people’s quality of life. She is particularly interested in strength and balance training in older adults for rehabilitation and falls prevention.

Mairead has an extensive sporting background including sailing and cycling at an elite level, as well as competing as a national age-group representative in long distance and off-road triathlon.

Lashini De Silva recently completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy from AUT. She has experience in musculoskeletal, older people's health and falls prevention rehabilitation from clinical placements. Lashini is most passionate about older adults health and is currently completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences focusing on Older adults health and wellness. She loves working with people and helping others achieve their goals. During free time, Lashini enjoys the performing arts and she occasionally sings in a band. 

Georgia is currently a third year physio student at AUT. She has an interest in the neurological and musculoskeletal aspects of the study. Georgia enjoys playing piano, challenging herself in the gym and competing in different outdoor activities such as tennis and hockey. She is passionate about improving people’s quality of life and being part of the process of helping others achieve their goals. 

Laura is currently a third year physiotherapy student at AUT. She has a passion for helping people achieve the best quality of life and reaching their goals. She is always looking to focus on the positives in life. She enjoys the neurological and musculoskeletal aspects of physiotherapy, and has a goal to also provide physiotherapy to animals.

Cullen is currently a 3rd physiotherapy student at Auckland university of technology. He has a strong passion for health and fitness and spends a lot of his own time in the gym training.  His current goals are to build muscle, strength as well as to become a stronger rock climber by employing specific training techniques. 

George has been running fun, high intensity aqua aerobics classes throughout Tāmaki Makaurau for the past seven years. Their classes are informed by their work as a swimming coach for the past 15 years, as well as their movement practice as a freelance artist; bringing training elements from the gym, circus arts, dance conditioning, yoga and pilates to the pool.  George uses their skills as an actor to make classes entertaining while simultaneously pushing clients to work to the best of their abilities.

Ronnie recently completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Exercise & Sport Science. He also plays Ultimate Frisbee and recently represented New Zealand at the U24 World Champs in the UK. Ronnie wants to use his university and sporting knowledge to bring a positive impact on others. He hopes to share how even small exercises can improve strength, balance, and fine motor skills, to enhance people's quality of life.
